The Approach
Living Wisdom
Health is a dynamic relationship between who you are and the world you live in, between activity and rest, between fullness and release.
For thousands of years, cultures of longevity understood something we have largely forgotten: that the body is a living system, inseparable from the natural world, governed by the same rhythms that move the tides, the seasons, and the stars.
Health is not a fixed state to be achieved and maintained. It is a dynamic relationship between who you are and the world you live in, between activity and rest, between fullness and release.
When life moves against nature's rhythms for too long, the body begins to speak in symptoms. When we return to these rhythms, something remarkable happens. The body remembers what it already knows.
This is the living wisdom at the heart of my practice.
Essence, Energy, Spirit
The Three Treasures
In Taoist medicine, the body holds three treasures: Jing, Qi, and Shen. Essence, Energy, and Spirit. These are not metaphors. They are the fundamental substances of life, each one nourishing the next.
Tend the Jing, the deep reserves stored in the kidneys, and Qi begins to flow. When Qi flows freely, Shen illuminates. When all three are tended together, the whole system comes alive.
Plants were here long before us. In many traditions they are not just remedies but teachers, allies, and guides. When working with herbs, tonics, or even our daily food, we are entering into a relationship, not a transaction.
This is what this work is always moving toward: not symptom relief, but the restoration of the whole.
Cycles
The Wisdom of the Seasons
Nature moves through four great passages each year. So does the body. Learning to move with them, rather than against them, is one of the most profound acts of self-care available to us.
Winter · Yin · Rest
The season of going inward. Of deep nourishment, slow food, warmth, and restoration. The time to tend the Jing, to replenish the body's deepest reserves and allow the spirit to rest. This is not laziness. This is wisdom.
Summer · Yang · Expand
The season of new movement and gentle rising energy after rest. The liver stirs, vision returns, and the body begins to want to move forward. A time for cleansing, for setting intentions, for allowing what was dormant to emerge. This is not forcing growth. This is allowing it.
Spring · Wood · Rise
The season of brightness, outward energy, and full expression. Qi moves freely, the heart opens to connection and creativity, and life asks to be lived fully and joyfully. This is not excess. This is flowering.
Autumn · Metal · Release
The season of letting go, of drawing energy inward, of honoring what is complete. Where grief, gratitude, and simplicity live together. The lungs breathe deeper. The body begins its return. This is not loss. This is harvest.
In my practice, every protocol, every recipe, every tonic herb recommendation is informed by the season you are in, both in nature and in your own life. Because you are not separate from the natural world. You are an expression of it.
If this resonates — the next step is simply a conversation.
A quiet conversation to explore whether this work is right for you, right now. And if it isn't — I will nonetheless be glad we spoke.
